Bobi Wine taken to Buganda Road Court, denies allegations of inciting violence

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who was arrested by police this morning while  he was heading to Police CID station in Kibuli to record a statement has been produced at Buganda road court a few moments after his arrest.

Reasons for his court appearance was to answer cases concernng incitement of violence case during the OTT tax demostration and holding an unlawful assembly on Easter Monday in Busabala which allegations he denied.

According to the Judge Bobi was charged with charged disobedience of statutory duty over the said taxes.

Bobi wine held a demostartion last year against the then newly imposed social media tax also known as OTT  saying it was unfair since Ugandans were already paying for taxes on airtime.

Journalists and other members of the public were locked out of the  Buganda Road court after they were denied entry by security officers during Bobi Wine's case hearing.

His Sureties did not get a change to represent him either as they were too denied access inside the court.

Update: Bobi wine Remanded to Luzira prison up to 2nd  May 2019.
