VIDEO: The First Uganda Airlines Plane Tests the Skies

The First Uganda Airlines Plane has Tested the Skies. Uganda Airlines first Bombardier CRJ-900 (CRJ9) test flight at Montreal Mirabel International Airport, Canada.

Earlier this year, President Yoweri Museveni had intervened in the Uganda Airlines saga after the launch date was pushed back by a further two months.

There had been a rift between the airline's interim borad and the implementation team as it was stalling progress. The president called for a meeting in an attempt to to heal a widening rift between the two sections.

The ariline's launch date has since  been pushed to June prio to the previously announced month of April. The revised launch date was confirmed by chief executive of Uganda Airlines Ephraim Bagenda.

Delivery of the first aircraft is set to be a few months before the airline's launch date..

Shokingly, Airbus, the manufacturer of the planes, released its 2018 sales and production figures on January 9, but did not reflect the Uganda Airlines order. However Airbus responded by saying “We are making good progress towards concluding that transaction.”
