WRONG PHOTO: A photo making rounds on social media is not of former Sudan's Defense Minister Ibrahim Shamseddin

A photo that went viral on the internet claiming to be of the former Assistant Defense Minister of Sudan, Ibrahim Shamseddin is false. 
ViralUG, did a photo search and discored that the photo was shared by a BBC Journalist a one Roncliffe Odit early this year during his coverage of the drought that affected 14 counties in Kenya as seen in his twitter post below.

14 Kenyan counties had been hit by drought early this year with the most affected parts being in the North.

The photo became popular after is was shared by a Nigeria politician known as Femi Fani-Kayode on his twitter handle with part of the a message that read; "Below is Col. Ibrahim Chamsadine, fmr Min. Of Defence in Sudan. He was jailed in 1995 by Omar Al-Bashir for opposing the dictator...". Femi has so far deleted his twitter post.

Sudan's Col. Ibrahim Shamseddin died in a plane crash together with other high ranking military officials back in 2001.
